About Our Supported Work Program
Many employment programs focus on preparing people for work "someday." We believe in learning by doing. You start working from day one, earning wages for your contributions while receiving the professional workplace support you need to succeed.
Here's how it works:
You're employed by ESports Collective and earn wages for the work you do – just like any other employee. We use the Australian Government's Supported Wage System, which ensures you're paid fairly based on your productivity compared to the award wage.
Separately, your NDIS Capacity Building funding pays for the job coaching, workplace mentorship, and individualised employment support services we provide to help you thrive in your role.
It is two separate things:
Your employment: ESports Collective pays you wages through the Supported Wage System for your work contributions
Your support: Your NDIS plan pays ESports Collective for professional job coaching and workplace support services
Our Supported Work Program
This isn't volunteering or work experience. You'll earn real wages while getting expert mentorship, funded through your NDIS Capacity Building budget. Where needed, we follow Fair Work supported wage assessment processes.

WHAT OUR SUPPORT WORKERS DO
Our support workers provide active, person-centered support throughout East Gippsland. We work with you, not just around you - building confidence, independence, and skills while you access the community and activities that matter to you.
Transport & Community Access
Door-to-door transport throughout East Gippsland with active support to access whatever activities matter to you. Appointments, community events, recreational activities, social outings - we make regional access possible.
Active Support in Community Settings
Our support workers participate alongside you, not just supervise. Whether you're trying the cinema, exploring cafes, attending events, or building confidence in new environments, we're there as actual support - helping you engage while building independence.
Social & Communication Support
Help navigating social situations, understanding unspoken rules, managing sensory needs, and communicating effectively in different environments. We read situations and provide support that matches the context without drawing unnecessary attention.
Skills Development in Real Settings
Practice life skills in actual community settings - money handling, public transport navigation, ordering at cafes, planning activities. Real-world practice builds confidence faster than simulated environments.
Personal Care & Daily Living
Support with personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts, and daily routines as needed. We provide dignified support that respects your independence while ensuring your needs are met.
Goal-Focused Planning
Every session connects to your NDIS goals. Whether you're building independence, exploring employment, developing social confidence, or working toward specific outcomes, we document progress and adapt support as you grow.

Do I need work experience?
No. We're looking for genuine interest and willingness to learn. Your gaming knowledge and passion are the starting point.
How much will I earn?
Our goal is award wages for your age and role. Where productivity is lower, we work with Fair Work to ensure proper wages. This is real employment with proper pay.
How does NDIS funding work?
The program is funded through your NDIS Capacity Building budget. We'll explain exactly how this works when we chat.
What if I'm not sure which pathway suits me?
That's totally fine. We'll talk through your interests and help you figure out what might fit best. You help shape your role.
How much support will I get?
As much as you need. Some people want daily check-ins, others prefer more independence. We adapt to you.
