Bridge the Digital Divide in East Gippsland
Good with phones, computers, or apps? Earn 1 hour of free gaming for every 1 hour you help someone learn technology. It's that simple.
As part of the Be Connected Young Mentor Program, we're launching a unique mentoring program in East Gippsland - where your existing tech knowledge becomes valuable community service, and community service becomes free gaming time plus membership in a supportive youth group at our Bairnsdale Gaming Space.

This isn't just volunteering - it's meaningful work with real rewards. Help older adults master technology while earning free entertainment time at our premium gaming facility. Your tech knowledge is valuable, and we're proving it.
Develop communication skills at your own pace, earn official certification, and build meaningful connections across generations. The program adapts to your goals - whether that's work experience, personal growth, or community contribution.
For every hour you volunteer as a mentor, you earn an hour at ESports Collective. Whether you're into gaming, want to try something new, or just enjoy hanging out in a cool space - your community service earns you access. Plus, you'll be part of a supportive youth group where mentors connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.
Join the program – Train as a digital mentor and earn free gaming time

Be valued for what you know. If you’re comfortable with phones, tablets, apps or computers—you already have skills that matter. When you help another person learn, you earn real rewards: every hour you mentor = one hour free gaming time at our Bairnsdale hub.
Grow your skills. You’ll build confidence, communication and leadership skills through meaningful work—not just a “volunteer hour”. Gain training, mentor support and the chance to add credible experience to your CV.
Make genuine connection. Many older adults feel left behind by technology. You’ll help bridge that gap while forming friendships and mutual respect across generations.
Flexible, inclusive, meaningful. Whether you’re a student, job-seeker, NDIS participant, or just someone who wants to give back—this program is designed for you.

We'll teach you everything you need to know about helping others with technology through friendly, supportive in-person training at ESports Collective. After the training, you'll also get ongoing coaching and peer support from our team. With our support there is no experience needed - just willingness to help.
Help older adults master smartphones, tablets, and essential apps while teaching internet safety and scam awareness. Support everyday tech like online banking and video calls, being patient and encouraging while people learn at their own pace. This will happen at ESports Collective, or other Be Connected locations (Like Neighbourhood Houses)
For every hour you spend helping someone navigate technology, you earn an hour of Game Time at ESports Collective. Plus, you'll be part of a supportive youth group where mentors connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.
We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds. Whether you're seeking work experience, personal growth, or simply want to help your community, this program adapts to your unique goals and capabilities.

This isn't just about technology - it's about connection. Many older adults feel left behind by digital advances, while young people are often underestimated for their knowledge and patience. Our program bridges that gap, creating genuine friendships and mutual respect across generations.
Plus, you're part of something bigger: This program is funded by the Australian Government's digital inclusion initiative, making you an official part of reducing the digital divide in East Gippsland.
16-21 years old. If you're willing to help, we want you! On a case-by-case basis people outside this age range can join, so get in touch if you are keen!
Not at all! Just be yourself and try your best. We'll show you some simple techniques, but mostly it's about being patient and friendly.
Honestly, most of us aren't great at it starting out! Just give it a go - we'll help you get better, and older adults are usually super patient while you figure it out together.
Whatever you can manage! Some people do an hour a month, others do more. There's no pressure - just help when you can.
Mentoring sessions will take place at ESports Collective and other Good Thing Partner locations.
Of course! Everyone has something to offer. We'll support you however you need - whether that's providing a Support Worker or welcoming your existing NDIS Support Worker to join you.

East Gippsland's premier gaming hub where we transform passion into purpose, creating meaningful connections and real-world opportunities in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
