🎮 GAMING WITH PURPOSE: BUILDING REAL PATHWAYS

November 04, 20253 min read

At ESports Collective, gaming is more than entertainment - it’s connection, confidence, and community. During the week, our focus is on purposeful gaming and skill development for NDIS participants - and honestly, without this mission, we wouldn’t exist.

That’s what makes us different. We use gaming as a platform to build real-world skills, confidence, independence, and employment opportunities - and the energy of that purpose powers our weekend entertainment for the whole community.

Our programs are designed to meet people where they’re at and grow with them. They can stand alone or connect seamlessly - helping participants move from social connection, to independence, to meaningful employment right here in Bairnsdale.

Here’s how:

OPEN SESSIONS

🗓️Tuesday to Friday, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Open Sessions are for everyone - a relaxed, welcoming space where the community can connect through gaming, creativity, and shared interests. There’s no set structure; you can drop in, play, and enjoy the atmosphere. As our community grows, we’ll help connect people with similar interests so friendships can form naturally.

NDIS participants are always welcome - attend with your own support worker, or we can provide supports through our professional peer support team.

SOCIAL SESSIONS

🗓️Tuesday to Friday, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
🗓️Saturday, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Our Social Sessions are designed for NDIS participants and anyone seeking connection. These are regular weekly sessions with the same small group - a safe, structured space where genuine friendships form over time through shared interests in gaming, creativity, and collaboration.

Each group meets on the same days and times each week, helping participants build routine, social confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging. Sessions are led by our peer support team - but if you prefer to attend with your own support worker, that’s absolutely fine too.

It’s a neurodivergent-friendly environment where everyone is welcomed, supported, and encouraged to participate at their own comfort level.

VIRTUAL DRIVING SCHOOL

🗓️Flexible scheduling

Our professional sim-racing technology helps participants build driving confidence before getting behind the wheel. Practice Victorian road conditions and hazard perception in a safe, controlled environment - perfect for anyone preparing for their learner’s or full licence, or managing driving anxiety.

This program supports independence, confidence, and real-world readiness — a stepping stone toward greater freedom.

SUPPORTED WORK PROGRAM

🗓️Tuesday to Thursday, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
🗓️Friday, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Purposeful, interest-based employment that builds real skills and confidence. Participants earn an award wage while helping to run our community sessions - greeting visitors, managing bookings, assisting gamers, and learning workplace communication.

As we grow, new opportunities will open in content creation, marketing, and technical operations - real work experience that can lead to real careers.

PARTNERING WITH OTHER NDIS PROVIDERS & INDEPENDENT SUPPORT WORKERS

We’re not a traditional NDIS provider - we’re a collective. We want to collaborate with other providers and independent support workers whose services complement ours.

Our newly renovated 300 m² space in the heart of Bairnsdale is designed to be a community hub - available for shared programs, client visits, or joint initiatives. Whether you’d like to bring your clients into our sessions, co-deliver supports, or use our space for your own activities, we’d love to work with you to build something meaningful together.
